bobblehead was formed in February 2002 by Jason Bove, Ken Brashear and Aaron Hurley over nachos at a bar in Orlando, Florida.
Jason's former band was looking for a drummer and a coworker happened to have a brother that was a drummer looking for a band. Ken and Jason met in 2001 and nothing became of that meeting.
When Jason was kicked out of that band he decided it was time to try again. He invited Ken to meet him at Adobe Gilla's at Pointe Orlando. Ken wanted an excuse to leave early in case it went poorly so he invited his long time friend Aaron along for the ride.
The 3 hit it off well and though Aaron was invited to sit in on keyboards at an upcoming jam he declined. When asked a 2nd time Aaron didn't refuse. At that first jam he also picked up a bass for the first time and got hooked. A quick study, the band stopped looking for a bass player.
A couple of false starts and lead singers later, the 3 really began to gel musically and writing some fantastic songs. Their self depricating style and ingrained geek ways made getting along easy.
In the fall of 2002 they began to play out around Orlando to great acclaim. What happens next? Stay tuned as we live it live.
